HP MSL 5060 tape library on hp-ux 11.11 running on L2000

HP MSL 5060 tape library on hp-ux 11.11 running on L2000 problem.

I connected the tape library with the HBA card on L2000 . The system can see the fibre adapter card.

But I see some strange devices :

I don't see anything wrong with your listing. They all appear to be valid SCSI controllers. If you do a detailed listing "ioscan -fnk" you will see the devices that each controller is associated with. Not all of them may have devices attached to them. There are four controllers that are built-in (one for two internal disks, a second for two more internal disks, a third for the internal CD/DVD and a forth connector in the back). You also have two additional controllers installed on PCI slots 4 and 11 and you have two SC10 disk enclosures that have controller interface devices.

What are the steps or commands that I should do after I connect MSL5060 successful to L2000 using fibre cable ?

I want to make the MSL5060 to be useable with the "mc" commands to check inventory and move tapes .

You should run
1. "ioscan" do a full hardware scan
2. "ioscan -fnk" display all hardware from the previous scan
3. "insf -e" create device files for the tape drives and the robotics interface. If all your connections are correct you should see the new devices.

2 tape drivers and 1 autoch can be seen in "ioscan" out .

the autochanger seems do not have /dev/cxtxtx , i just saw 0/1/0.14.0.255.8.0.0.0 in the H/W for the autoch , strange ?

Is the hardware for autochanger NOT CLAIMED? If it is not you may be missing the autochanger driver from the kernel. You need to add it, "autoch" is the name. The device file is in /dev/rac/cXtYdZ

The driver names are autofsc and schgr. There is also autox0 but you don't need that, that is for older libraries.
