HP STORAGEWORKS DAT40 USB NOT RECOGNIZED BY WINDOWS
I just came across a client that has a Windows 2003 Server with an HP Storageworks DAT40 Internal USB Drive installed in it.
There is power to the drive (i can load/eject a tape). The problem is that the drive isn't being recognized by Windows. I tried installing the device drivers from the CD but that doesnt work.
I havent been able to get an opportunity to shut down the server to look inside, but i am guessing that if the drive has power then it must be connected properly inside.
Anyone have anyideas on how i get windows to recognize this device?
Thanks

Re: HP STORAGEWORKS DAT40 USB NOT RECOGNIZED BY WINDOWS
Hello Mike,
It may be worth checking the internal USB connection - on one server the motherboard had two USB connectors; one worked other did not. Do not know why but after swopping them over - all OK.
cheers
JackC.
