HP Storage Works DAT 40

We have a StorageWork DAT40 on a Novell Server using Backup Express. We are getting the two light flashing. I have cleaned the drive varius times and have use four different tapes to used and two brand new. The drive will not back-up. It have been flashing the light for the past two day, it did the backup but each backup got longer upto 4x's as long.The tape are the correct tapes. I think the drive has a major problem

Install and run the latest ltt utility to check the firmware, drive and media.

Media caution signal
Tape LED (Green)= Off, or flashing rapidly
Clean LED (Amber)= On, or flashing slowly

If the media caution signal appears again with the second tape, the tape heads need cleaning.
If the media caution signal appears after using a cleaning cartridge, the cleaning cartridge has probably expired and should be discarded.
