HP Storage works ULTRIUM 448 internal tape drive

Hi,

client has a ML350 G5 Server along with a
internal HP Storage works Ultrium 448 internal tape drive.

backup system:symantec backup exec 11.d

issue.tape not backup orange LEd lights coming up

trouble shooting done:upgraded firmware & used cleaning tape.

problem still penging...


gurus and bright ideas...

Operating system on the server?
If possible, use Library and Tape tools to run diagnostics on that drive (Read/Write test and LTO Drive assesment test).

If the drive fails assesment test, it's kaput.

Install HP Library and Tape Tools and run LTO Drive Assessment Test in L&TT.

(make sure you stop all backup applications/services before running L&TT)

Stop removable storage manager service as well.

i have already tried that.it picks up the ultrium tape drive when I use the LTO .but there is a red X on it.
