HP StorageWorks DAT tape drive 72 HotPlug HELP

Dear Sirs,

I have "five ML370" + "two ML570" servers
And need a cheap backup solution for them
As I found there is a hot plug DAT 72 tape
Drive available.

What I really want to do is to plug it into
My servers take my backup and go to next
Server. So what do you guys think, is it a
A wise solution?!!
Is there anybody that has the same config?
If there is any would you please write
Something about your experience. (All OS's
Are Windows 2000 Advanced server)

One more think, I read "hp Storage Works DAT
Tape dirve" , "getting started guide" manual
And there is a NOTE in page 13, No.3 :

NOTE :
"HP ProLiant ML370 servers only. Horizontal orientation: install the first tape in the third drive
Slot from the left. Tower orientation: install the first tape in the third drive slot from the bottom.
"

So... what does it mean? Some of my ML370
Servers are equipped with 3 or 4 Hard disk
And Are operational now :( , does it mean
That I can NOT INSTALL it in for example
Bay No 4 and No 5 ..

Any Comments Are appreciated

Best Wishes

Re: HP StorageWorks DAT tape drive 72 HotPlug HELP

Hi,
If the drive suit's the interface of all the server you want to take backup and also suit's the drivers then...
Carry on with your idea, seems fine for your case.
