HP StorageWorks ESL G3 does support DAS connection ?

Hi

I have a question, i have installed a HP ESL G3 without SAN switch, the connection is DAS, i mean, i have a DL380 Proliant G8 with a HBA, i have connected the tape library direct to the server.

The HP ESL G3 has a 4 tape driver, i just connected one drive direct to the one proliant server and the MCB from HP ESL connected to another proliant server in order to control the robotic, but i can not achieve that the library work.
I am not sure about this configuration, i think HP ESL G3 does not support DAS connection it´s just support SAN connection
