HP StorageWorks autoloader with Legato
The server is a Proliant DL385 G2, running Windows Server 2003.
We installed an HP StorageWorks 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader Ultrium-3 SCSI, connected to a PCI-X HP SC44Ge Host Bus Adapter. Installed EMC Legato Networker 7.2 (later upgraded to 7.3).
I was sure that my colleague was able to configure Legato to recognize the autoloader.
We decided to move the card and autoloader to another server and uninstall Legato, but that plan did not go through, so we reinstalled them back to the original server.
I reinstalled Legato and I ran the INQUIRE command and get the following:
Error in nt_lus_get_inquiry; error was 1
Incorrect function.
scsidev@0.0.0:TEAC DW-224E-R C.AC|CD-ROM
I was trying to setup the autoloader as a jukebox using the JBCONFIG command. Tried to setup the jukebox as a Microsoft Removable Storage Jukebox, but got this error:
jbconfig: Jukebox error: Could not start a Removable Storage session
Any ideas?

Re: HP StorageWorks autoloader with Legato
Hi Tom,
We finally found the cause of the error.
The tape loader is not recognize by Legato because of a Microsoft patch that is included with SP2 (KB916048).
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=3319912&prodTypeId=12169&objectID=c01151607
We decided to reinstall Windows and install all the hotfixes (excluding the one above) to make it nearly at SP2 level.
Good Luck.
David
