HP SureStore E DLT Tape Library 4/40 Has Hard Error>
We have DLT Tape Library 4/40 with 4 drives.
We are getting following hard error:
1. Transport moved above highest detected level, Requested to move above the maximum vertical height (77, 57)
2. Failed to perform an inventory check , Requested to move above the maximum vertical height (76, 57)
What we need to do?
Regards
Khairul

Is the top cover still on the library?
What version of firmware are you on? The most recent for the library is 1.62.
If you install HP LTT (www.hp.com/support/tapetools), select the library, select the support tool, save a support ticket to a file, and then post the .ltt file here, we can review all of the library error logs.

I believe they already tried that (from a parallel post):

Also, check the slave controller board (on the level of the 4/40 without the library controller) as Curtis indicated.
The drive code is out of date (V86 is current), but it would not cause library inventory problems.
