HP Surestore E Tape Library A5583A Password Reset
We have an older HP Surestore Tape Library that we can no longer gain access too the configuration menu. I am having troubles doing a factory reset. I have tried downloading the Tools package from HP, and done a firmware update. I was of the understanding this would do a factory reset however it did not.
There is a configuration password set, but has long since been forgotten.
Do I have any options for doing a factory reset on the unit to get it back to a fresh clean state?
Carl

Re: HP Surestore E Tape Library A5583A Password Reset
Sounds like this is a library from the galactica family - give HP a call, they can provide you a temp. password, so you can reset it.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
