Does HP ULTRIUM 448 SCSI tape drive come with SCSI terminator? Do i need to use termintor for the above tape drive? I am using Microsoft Data protector 2007 to do backup, the error message is "Waiting Tape"

The drive does require termination. HP's external drives provide active termination. Internal drives will need a terminator, usually placed at the end of the SCSI cable. In case you have both internal and external devices connected to a SCSI controller, there are some special considerations in that document.

Make sure that the drive is visible in Device Manager. If it is visible in Device Manager, you can download HP's Library and Tape Tools to run further diagnostics.
