Opening Tape Drive 241.0.0[4-141/3/0/14/1/1.102.12.255.0.0.0]
Successfully opened the Tape Drive /dev/rmt/4mnb
409600 MB written in 1007.4232 seconds at 406.5819 MB/s
Device performance tool has successfully completed execution.
How's this possible? 400MB/s?? This was "driveperf" test bypassing Storage.

Solution
The native performance for an Ultrium960 is about 80MB/sec. If the data you are using is compressable - you can multiply this speed by the compression ratio. This would imply your data has a compression ratio of 5:1.
However, there are limiting factors such as the speed of the connecting bus - it looks like a fibrechannel connection to the tape - what is the link speed - 4GB???. It would be useful to know what hardware is in place.
