HP35480A No media in drive Error

I have a HP35480A drive in an old E50 server. I am running ARCserve for NT 6.5 software. The drive will not recognize any tapes I put in the drive.

In ARCserve under Device Manegment I get the "No Media In Drive" error. I have put new tapes in the drive and still get the same error.

whuch media are you using?
This is DDS1 drive.
Use cleaning tape and then try to use the media.
What are the settings in Arcserve for the drive and media?
