Hardware compression not compress files on medium

Hello,

I have MSL 4048 and using HP DP 6.2 as backup software.

the Library firmware is all updated and the Hardware compresstion is enabled on the library tape drive and the data protector.

with the hardware compression enabled or disabled i get same actuall size on medium , it seems it is not working.

can anyone please advice about this issue.

How much data are you writing for your tests?  Is it compressible?

Have you tried using LTT to test compression?

Sorry for the delay

I have tested it with the LTT and the report shows that the compresstion is working

I have made a test on a compressable data with the size of about 20 GB, but the actual files size on disk is same on tape .

the actual data that we take back up for is about more than 1 TB
