Hardware reset to factory defaults of NSR E1200-160
Hi.
Is there a way that an E1200-160 can be hardware reset to it's factory defaults? (There is a pin reset button on the NSR but it appears to reset the card if it has locked up). The reason I ask is that I have recently acquired a MSL 6060 library with a NSR card installed, but have been unable find out its IP address / password from its previous user. The RJ11 serial cable was not sent with the library so I cannot use this method either.
I'm hoping that if I can do this I can then logon to the NSR with a x-over cable and connect to its default IP address which I believe will is 1.1.1.1. (please advise if I have got this wrong).
thank you.

Re: Hardware reset to factory defaults of NSR E1200-160
Hi,
You'll find the user guide for the E1200-160 here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/lpg29075/lpg29075.pdf
Having had a quick flick through, there doesn't appear to be a way of resetting the NSR without a serial cable or ethernet connection. You're probably going to have to get a serial cable, or make one - pin outs are also in the guide.
Defaults once reset are as you thought.
IP: 1.1.1.1
SM: 255.255.255.0

Hope this helps,
Regards,
Rob

Re: Hardware reset to factory defaults of NSR E1200-160
thanks Rob.
I think I'm going to have to purcahse a cable. WOuld you happen to know the part number of the NSR serial cable? I've got part number 300576-001 but I have a feeling this is for the MSL controller serial cable.

Hi,
The number you've got is correct.
Fibre Channel serial cable - 300576-001
Library serial cable - RJ11-089 - 252850-001
Cheers,
Rob
