Help Required for MSL4048 Tape Library for connecting with Server 2012 R2

Dear Techs,

I am currently using HP MSL4048 Tape Library for taking the tape backups. Currently the library
is connceted to HP G5 Server via a SCSI cable running 2003 Server in it. We are using ArcServe
to take the backups. The scenario is I want to move from 2003 to 2012 R2 Server. I have
contacted the ArcServe team and took the necessary bakups for ArcServe.

So, please help me out in clearing my below doubts.

> Once I moved to 2012 Server, will it detect the MSL4048 Tape Library? I
will be decomissioning the 2003 Server and install the Server 2012 on the same Server.

> Incase it didnt get detected and needs some driver updates. From where can I
get the required updates for Server 2012 R2?

> Does the Tape Library requires a Firmware update as well?

You have Firmware Version 7.80, version 9.00 is the latest.

However, I doubt you get the SCSI adapter running on your win2012 server, this could be a problem.

What adapter you will use?

How can I get the latest firmware 9.00? Also can you provide the KB link for the firmware
update procedure.

I am currently using the below adapter.

HP Single Channel Ultra320 SCSI HBA G2

Is there a method to check the compatibily of this adapter to confirm whether it will work with 2012 or not?

Get the firmware (entitlement required)

and use the libraries web interface to upgrade the firmware.

Tried some researching for HP Single Channel Ultra320 SCSI HBA G2 with Server 2012

As per the below link a user tried with 2008 x64 and it apparently worked with his 2012 Server. I might have a same try on this scenario.

Update,

Instead going with 2012 R2 we installed 2008 R2 as HP have all the required softwares with them for the DL 380p G5 Server. I realised that HP doesnt recomend for the installation of 2012 R2 on a DL 380p G5 Server. The 2008 R2 had all the drivers and hence it was easy for the Tape Library and the SCSI card to get detected. If any one is facing issue in driver installation for the SCSI card the link mentioned in the below email might help you.
