How do disable hardware compression on DAT40i?

How do you disable the hardware compression on the drive?

By changing the settings in your software - i.e. Backup Exec - to set the compression at Software Compression only this will turn off the hardware compression. However the hardware compression is the better way to go, this way your system is slowed down by it performing the compression, rather than the tape drive. But a better question is - why do you want to turn off hardware compression?
