How to configure MSL5026 S2 to operate via MSA SAN 2/8 with OpenVMS 7.3 (ES47)

We installed MSA SAN 2/8 serving an MSA 1000 storage drives. This MSA SAN 2/8 is connected as well to two ES47-OpenVMS-Systems and one MSL5026 S2.
The ES47-SRM-Boot sees the WWID /UDID of the disks offered by MSA1000 but does not see the WWID/UDID of the MSL5026.
What are the configuration requirements to make the tape library operateabel in this environment ?

We had to get onto the serial console port of the tape library before it would talk on the SAN. I was not working that issue with the Field service rep, so I cannot say everything that they needed to do to get it to talk Fibre channel.

Basically, it was configuring the NSR that was plugged into the back of the tape library.

Then you had to zone it. With a small SAN like you described, zoning should not be necessary.

We use box AIX and VMS to push data to/from that tape library.

You need to go into the NSR (router) through the web interface, and then fill the map (the default map is empty), and then you will need to assign that map to the host (again, through the same web interface).
The journey IS the reward.
