How to find a S/N of my tape drive from the system win 2K3 ?

I want to avoid opening a box. Is any way to find S/N of tape drive form system?

I've got SBS 2K3

It should be in the registry although it can take a bit of poking around.

My Computer>HKLM>DEVICEMAP>Scsi>>>>

Device manager will show the bus/id/lun but I haven't found a nice way to figure out which port to look under.

Hi Tomasz,

The best way to find your serial number would be to use the simple tool called Library and Tape tools

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/ltt/index.html

This will show Serial and does many other things too. and it is free and much better than having to go into reg.

If the tape drive is an HP tape drive the L&TT tool recommended above is very useful and will show lots of drive information. If it isn't an HP tape/optical drive L&TT doesn't report information about the drive.
