How to format LTO1 Tape with LTO3 Tape Drvei

We have a new Ultrium LTO 3 Tape Drvie (model 960), however, we cannot reuse some current LTO1 tapes on this drive. Please advise how we can backup data to a LTO1 tape with this drive?

Hi Sunny,

You can read only using a LTO3 drive, using a LTO-1 cartridge.

For restoring data in netbackup - change the tape density setting of the drive in the software.

Your new drive can read the old tape, but NOT write to it.

No backup possible in this combination.
