I think It's dead.. 8(
Compaq DAT 20/40
After 3 hours of bs last night I believe my tape drive has reached the end of it's road. After rebooting the server at least 3 times to fix the constant blinking error light, it has now started blinking the power light (the little one with a lightning bolt on it). And it won't quit.. There is a tape in there but it won't respond to my requests to eject it. The L&TT tools, won't help. Rebooting, won't help, yelling and swearing, no go.. Anyone got any suggestions?!?!

Assuming it is dead.. It's in a Proliant ML370..kind of an old beast.. What would be my best bet to replace it? Something that won't take alot of crap to get rolling.. internal, uses the same tapes.. Suggestions?

Scott,
about this 'bad' drive. Check if its power is ok. Try another power connector. Try disconnecting drive off the SCSI bus and look if it will flash the same way or not

Hi,
If you want to replace the drive, DAT 20/40 is still avilable from HP.
