Incredible service by Singapore service center
My library SDLT 110/220 broken down with a tape stuck in the drive. Send in to the service center for accessment. Was told that they don't repair tape drive And was quoted to replace with a recondition drive at $2,+++ dollars. Hence, will have to decide if to upgrade to 320 or 600 drive. Has requested the tech to help if the tape can be retrived from the drive, as I do have information stored and also it is a new tape. To my horrow and surprise. The technician did remove the tape shell leaving the tape media in the drive. And charged me for labor in removing the tape shell. I could have removed or salvaged the tape my self knowing that the drive is not repairable.
