Is the terminator power enabled on a connected tape drive.
Is the terminator power enabled on a SDLT320 tape drive when this drive is connected to a DL380G3 server via a scsi cable that already has a terminator.
Thanks,
Keith Rogan

Re: Is the terminator power enabled on a connected tape drive.
the terminator at the end of the cable is enabled by being there. terminator power is required when you add an active terminator to the and of a SCSI string
Don't fix what ain't broke!

Re: Is the terminator power enabled on a connected tape drive.
Any termination whether active or passive requires power. The rule is at least one device on the SCSI bus must supply termination power. Unlike the termination itself -- which must be on the physical ends of the bus --- the termination power can come from any device. Typically termination power is enabled by a DIP switch or jumper.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
