L700 Tape Library Gui

Does anyone know any way of securing the brower view to the L700 library? It does not request a login and while most of the screens are view only, this is a maintenance page and a config page. I'm trying to avoid using ACLs if possible at the network level but I don't see anything in this console that would help.
thanks
Rob

Re: L700 Tape Library Gui

Moving to a tape hardware forum. You may want to be a bit more specific about the brand, model, and so forth.

Re: L700 Tape Library Gui

have you looked in the User guide:

Setting the Web Password
If your library uses the Web-Based Library Administrator, you must set a Web
password at the operator panel. For instructions on setting this value, see Web
Password on page 44 and the Web-Based Library Administrator Online Help
CD that shipped with your library.

Web Password
The Web Password menu item allows you to view or change your password.
See Figure 21 on page 44.

WEB PASSWORD:
XXXXXXX
USE ARROWS TO CHANGE
EACH LETTER
SELECT TO MOVE RIGHT
SELECT ON SPACE TO
SAVE THE PASSWORD
MENU TO MOVE LEFT
OR TO EXIT

Re: L700 Tape Library Gui

To be honest, I didn't look in the user manual(I know shame, shame) but what I didn't realize until I tried a few things was that I had to try to execute one of the maintenance commands before I get prompted for the password. I assumed that because I was able to view the maintenance tab and click on the clean/mount/dismount buttons that it was available. Thanks for the help though.
