L80 Auto Clean feature

On my storageTek L80 I turned off the Automatic Cleaning feature. With this feature on you could see 79 Cells. According to the documentation when you turn it off you then see cells 80 and 81. I was then going to set up the cleaning within Data Protector. However I still cannot see these cells. I did a reset when it prompted me to on the panel. Do I actually have to turn the unit off and back on for this change to be seen?
