LTFS, HBA driver problem, LTO-6
Hi,
my current configuration is:
DL360g9 running Windows Server 2019
Additional H241 controller, Firmware 7.00, Driver HpSAMD.sys 8.04.0
LTO-6 Drive (6250)
Running the tape with Iperius backup is working fine.
If I want to use LTFS, I go following error message:
the hba driver doesnot support the required transfer size (512kb)
Where could I set up the transfer size?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Looks like we cannot modify or change seetting on SAS HBA 241.... (Zero Memory Card)
The same was possible with SAS P212 by adding Memory Card.

Re: LTFS, HBA driver problem, LTO-6
Hi,
in the compatibility matrix (https://www.hpe.com/storage/StoreEverSupportMatrix), the P212 is marked as not recomended for tapes and the maximum block size is 64k. The H241 is the recommended controller. So I think, the controller should be able to support LTFS with 512kb block size.

Re: LTFS, HBA driver problem, LTO-6
I am using an HP P812 HBA in a consumer Win 10 PC and an external HP LTO-5 Ultrium 3000
Keep getting error "the hba driver doesnot support the required transfer size (512kb)"
What can I do?
Thanks in advance!

Re: LTFS, HBA driver problem, LTO-6
The only solution I have found was to change the contoller to H241. Then it worked.

Re: LTFS, HBA driver problem, LTO-6
Hi OgiMatov,
I haven't received any pictures on my mail. I also can't provide hardware support in this forum. If you can't identify the right controller, please contact a local hardware specalist.
