LTO 3 Block Size/Buffer Size?

I am looking to squeeze every bit of performance out of an Ultrium 960 using Backup Exec 12.5. I have read a few posts in various places stating to adjust the Block Size. HP themselves recommend doing it for this particular drive to 256KB in the HP Data Protector Manual. However this link...

Under block size it specifically states that changing this has no effect for Ultrium drives?

Can anyone illuminate?
