Hi All
i have one msl 6030 whit two tape drive LTO4 but whit to connect to server and see device manager i see one tape dirve. i check this connect two tape drive and no problem.
card in include this msl is fiber.
plase help to how detect 2 tape dirve.

Is this library connected to the san via fibre, or the server. What kind of server is it connected to? Have the two drives been connected to each other or are there 2 cards attached to the san or the server? If there are 2 cards in the library, one for each drive, then both will need attaching to the san or server.

Yes library connected to san via fiber. And server to connect to san switch . one server connect to MSL. One fiber card is available on the library.

Hi,

if you have one FC card from server connected to the switch and both LTO 4 drives as well.
then only thing we can suspect here is zonning.

you should check the following. to get it resolved.

1.Login to the switch , check if both the drives are logged in to the switch (wwn against port)

2 if yes check zonning with server port.

3 If no check connectivity from drive to switch end.

4.NOTE: When you are using LTO4 drives , you should use 1 card per drive to get the performance.

Hi,

You probably need to update the mapping on the NSR (fibre card) to allow the hosts to see both drives.

try to swap the cables between 2 drives and HBA card on the server as well to find issue follows the drive or the cable or the HBA card.....hope you got my point...
also as mentioned above mapping could be an issue as well.

i have update NSR but not detect 2 tape drive in windows.
i install one Fiber card on the MSL (1 NSR) install my MSl.
