LTT MSL 5026 drive not identified

I have problems detecting drive with HP StorageWorks Library & Tape tools.

The error message is the following:
"The device scan failed to identify all of the library drives"

The OS is Windows 2003 Server.

Can you help me with this problem.

Walter, before running LTT make sure you have stopped your back up services as well as the removable storage service.

The service is stopped.

Make sure Windows can see the drives, and that none of them are offline.

Windows can see the Library (they recongnize it) but can't see the drive.

I can't tell you how to fix it, but if Windows can't see the drives then nothing else can. Look at the status of the drives on the the front panel of the Library, are they online?

couple of things. If this library has been working in the past, it's likely the drive has failed. If it hasn't been working, verify that everything is seen at hardware level during POST
