Linux unable to detect Ultrium 1760 SAS Tape Drive

Hi,

We have DL380G6 server connected which has dedicated P212 ZM controller card for SAS tape drives(Ultrium 1760 SAS tape drives) part of HP 3U rack mount SAS kit. Servers is running RHEL 5 update 2. However, I could not find the drives installed in OS. My linux Kernel is 2.6.18-92.el5.
Below is the output of lsmod :
lsmod
Module Size Used by
st 72037 0
.
cciss 98121 17
.
scsi_mod 188665 11 st,iscsi_tcp,ib_iser,libiscsi,scsi_transport_is
csi,ib_srp,sr_mod,sg,libata,cciss,sd_mod

I cannot find mptsas module here.

Also I am not sure of the Internal cabling of
3U rack mount SAS kit.

I believe there could be too reasons behind this... if the cabling is not fine and Linux is not detecting the Tape or drivers are not there in OS so may need to download the cciss rpm from HP.

Please assist to resolve this.

You need to add 256MB memory (HP 462968-B21) to the P212 to activate external ports. P212/ZM has active internal ports only.

It was with the drivers for Linux. Installed the latest drivers and worked fine.
