MLS5026 - backup problems
I have a mls5026 with 1 sdlt 110/220 drive and I am using veritas 8.6 for windows.
For the last month or so I having problems with backups!
The sdlt will not load the tapes!
I have talked to HP support and they told me to use HP L&TT - so I did.
I was able to upgrade fireware and the SDLT.
But not on the library!
Every time I click on the library I get the error messages:
An error occurred while the diagnostic function was started for the selected device. See the Event Log for details.
But It's not posible to access the event log!!
If run test on tapes the test fail on write test! - 2 new tapes!
It is not possible to upgrade the fireware on the library via web interface.
The tapes which are unable to load for backup, is show as been a Cleaning Tape????
What should I do?
Dump it?? And buy an new from an company with better service!!!!
Tell the HP support to exchange the SDLT and the loader?
Or???
4 screen dumps attacted.

Dear Jan,
This really is one for the customer support centre. LT&T should be able to upgrade your firmware. I suspect however you have a problem with the actual drive and/or media if the cleaning light is activated. Please post your case number and I will request my colleagues in support to escalate it. I am sure your problem can be resolved.

Hi,
One of Rothery's mates here.
Did you call HP support and get the case number ?? It's loads better for us to deal with the regional support than try to handle these sort of problems internationally.
If you post your email address then I'll contact you for that case number and I'll look into it with the local teams.
