MSL 2024 Exception
We have an MSL 2024 tape library that is showing Drive Overtemp Status with a code of F0 01. Drive 1 Status indicates Exception F0 0-Error. If I check the of the library, it shows the same error code but an internal temperature of 35.1 C. The drive itself shows a temperature of 52 degree Celsius. Any idea on what might be wrong? I tried logging in as the Service user but do not know the password.

Re: MSL 2024 Exception
Please post an L&TT support ticket for the full library. Either use the web interface to pull a ticket for the library and each drive or use standalone L&TT (http://www.hp.com/support/tapetools) to pull a ticket for the full library - it's the same info either way.
A drive internal temperature of 52 degrees C is pretty warm but not over the limit for most LTO drives. A full ticket would give us some history.
A drive overtemp is usually either the room is too hot and you need to turn on the AC or the drive fan is somehow blocked or not working correctly.

Re: MSL 2024 Exception
Have the library shut down for a while say 3hrs and power on again. You could try upgrading all firmware for both the library and tape. Although the temperature is abit high. Make sure nothing is blocking the back of the library.
