MSL 5026 SDLT 320 Tape Drive Idle
From MSL5026 Front Panel moved a tape from the mail slot to Drive 0. I would now like to move the tape from Drive 0 back to the mail slot but Move Media states "All available library elements are empty". If I look at the library status it shows that a tape cartridge is loaded but that the drive is idle. Any ideas how to move or eject this tape?

Re: MSL 5026 SDLT 320 Tape Drive Idle
Hi, you may want to use HP L&TT (Library and Tape tools).
The version we are using is 3.5 SR2 (for Windows).
Click on Front Panel, select the source and destination, then click Perform Move.
HP L&TT can be found here http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/ltt/

Re: MSL 5026 SDLT 320 Tape Drive Idle
Ernie,
In addition to Ellinus' suggestion of using L&TT you can try the following.
1. Power down the library and disconect it from the server.
2. Power the library back up leaving it disconnected from the server.
3. Try moving media from the front panel of the library again.
4. If the above does not work, remove the top panel of the library and power off again.
5. Holding the eject button on the drive in question power the library back-up. Note: be careful of the robot as it does the inventory. Stop holding the eject button after 10 seconds or so.
Thanks,
