MSL 5030 on a HP NetRaid 4M Controller (and Windows 2000)

Hello,

i have a problem with a new MSL 5030 Tape-Library!

i want to connect the library with an HP NetRaid 4M Controller but i will not function.

in the controller bios you will see the MSL and both of the drives but in Windows 2000 the MSL will not be found.

In the atteched file you will see it on channel 1.

Can anybody help me please!

Hi Chris,

unfortunately the 4M does not support pass-through SCSI. This means that the 4M controller is not the same thing as a scsi card & therefore you'll need to buy an additional SCSI card for the library.

Adaptec 39160 scsi adapters works fine.
HP 129803-B21 works equally well.
