MSL 5030

We have an MSL5030 tape library. It has 30 tape slots but the software (BE9.0) but also L&TT only sees 26 slots, like its a MSL5026.

Does anyone knows why there aren't 30 slots shown.

Latest firmware for library en latest drivers for BE.

How many mail slots do you have defined on the library? They won't be detected by the backup software.

Are the magazines the LTO type with 15 slots, or the DLT type with 13 slots?

You will either have 0 (disabled) or 1 (enabled) mailslot. You can check the setting from the front panel: Menu -> Edit Options -> Library -> Master Mail Slot Mode.

If you have the mailslot enabled, you will have one less storage slot. The other place where slots can be used is "reserved" slots, which can be used by the ISV software for cleaning tapes. From the front panel: Menu -> Edit Options -> Library -> Total Reserved Slots.

Another thing you can check from the front panel is the magazine info: select Status and look at each magazine. Do they say "LTO" or "DLT"? What are the slot number ranges listed above each magazine?

Sorry for the late reply. Been away for a few weeks.
We had some slots reserved. Checked it and counting seems to be ok now.
