MSL 6000 fc to scsi controler

Hi all,

I just had the FC to scsi controller replaced in MSL6000 library. I assume the wwn number has changed. What are the steps required to get the attached drives working on the system side (HP-UX 11.23)? What about the DataProtector setup changes required to be done?

Thanks!!!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: MSL 6000 fc to scsi controler

The best way to do this is to save the config of the old NSR and restore it to the new.

So the WWN and all the mappings will remain.

If you can't, you need to adjust zoning (if WWN based) and mappings.

Hope this helps!

Re: MSL 6000 fc to scsi controler

Hint:

Connect via FTP to the NSR, switch to bin mode and save the config, e.g.

FTP> get my_unique_filename.cfg

then swap the cards, connect serial, adjust the IP (if you use a fixed IP, not DHCP) and restore the CFG file to the new NSR.

The device will reboot and the "old" config is in place.

Hope this helps!

Re: MSL 6000 fc to scsi controler

OK, here is what I've done so far:

logged onto the NSR and changed the WWN numbers to the same values as the previous one had.
Checked the brocade switch and it looks like the zoning is OK. (does it show the curent values like port numbers and WWNs or do I need to refresh it somehow?)

Still I am unable to see the devices under ioscan. What else could I check.

Plaease help!
