Re: MSL 6060 Drive Fetch Failure
Just for info we have been experiencing intermittant issues with our Tape Library.
On a number of occasions now we have seen the below error
Fault Code:3013(soft)
Drive fetch failure
The only way we have been able to clear this error is by rebooting the library and manually unloading the tape.
The information on our tape library is as follows:
Firmware = 5.13
MSL 6060 / LTO2
DP 5.10
SAN Attached - HPUX
I'm going to do some more tests and will update with any progress.
I'll also raise a case on this and update as well.
Regards
Kevin

Re: MSL 6060 Drive Fetch Failure
The only way we can currently work around this is to Abort the Backup within the Data Protector software and then power the tape library down and back on.
Once this has been done we then perform a Barcode Scan on the tapes and then run a test backup and all seems to be ok.
This normally last about 1 week until the drive fetch error occurs again.
I'll keep you updated with my progress.

Re: MSL 6060 Drive Fetch Failure
Please see this similar forum thread:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=981956
I recommend downgrading to 5.07 until the new firmware (likely 5.16) is released in April.
