MSL 8096 Multipathing.
We have a MSL8096 FC library with 2 LTO4 drives each with 2 FC ports.
We use 2 SAN switch fabrics for redundancy
We use Symantec backup exec 2010 for backups running on win2k8 R2 and want to know how to setup multipathing for the tape drives.
Do we have to use a MPIO DSM for the library?
Does Backup exec 2010 has to support dual path to use both FC ports on each tape drive?

Re: MSL 8096 Multipathing.
IMHO there is no multipathing for tapes this time - not from hardware, not from software perspective.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: MSL 8096 Multipathing.
at the moment there is no support for path failover or multipath in the msl G3
what you can do is working in manual mode, you create two group of zone, one for the connection to the FCport 0 and one for the connection to FC port 1.
if you got a failure on the SAN related to the first path, you can manually disable first zone and enable the second one, that will allow connectivity to the second FC port.
Obvioulsy the backups will break and you will need to restart them
