Hi,
Is it possible to connect a MSL (Overland model) + internal disks on a Smart 642?
I guess it's possible but I don't find compatibility matrix on that.
Thanks for your answers.
Ben

Solution
The specifications list some universal hot plug tape drives, but not any libraries. It is likely that the SA642 does not know how to deal with the robotic device.

Re: MSL & Smart 642
Hi,
it├В┬┤s maybe possible and maybe it├В┬┤s functional, but the 642 isn├В┬┤t listet in the EBS compatibility matrix, so I think it├В┬┤s unsupportet. I didn├В┬┤t realize such a setup, because internal disks and tape drive on the same controller can cause poor backup performance.
Regards,
Patrick

Re: MSL & Smart 642
Do not attach tape backup products to a RAID controller.
Thanks,
