MSL5026DLX Can see device but not drive

Hi
We are trying to install a Compaq 5026DLX via SCSI on to a Win2k server using Brighstor V9. Windows and Brightstor can both see the actual device but not the drive inside this. We have upgraded the firmware but have had no joy. Any help would be much appreciated.

In what way are you attaching the device and tape drive inside it?
