MSL5026SL and SDLT600

Will the MSL5026SL (original) support SDLT600 drives? If so, does anyone have the proper SDLT600 part number?

Thanks.

You can upgrade an MSL5026 to an MSL6026, ie replace the 320 drives with SDLT600 drives. We just did and it works fine.

Re: MSL5026SL and SDLT600

What is involved with upgrading the library to the MSL6026? Do you have the part number for the upgrade kit?

Thanks.

Re: MSL5026SL and SDLT600

Larry,

See the Q&A of the MSL6000 libraries:

http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/msl6000/qa.html

and the quickspecs for all the details:

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11863_div/11863_div.html#Related%20Options

The drives you need to order are have the part number AD589A.

best regards,
Kurt

Re: MSL5026SL and SDLT600

Apologise, I was not so clear, Kurt is right,

the only MSL5026SL which do not support the SDLT600 are the Opal version

for the graphite version the following kit is correct with the listed limitations:

AD589A MSL add-on SDLT600 drive
(configure single drive per SCSI bus)
In FC SAN config use only with e1200-160 FC controller

Thanks guys. Unfortunately, we do have the opal version.
