MSL5030 - Not reading Barcodes

The tape in the magazine is replaced every day. However, occasionally when I check the status the barcode displayed is for the tape I just replaced. I then have to move the new tape from its slot, remove the tape from the mail slot, re-insert it and move it back to the slot before the new barcode number is registered.
Has anyone else come across this problem nad is there a fix?

We have an MSL5030
