Re: MSL6000 + BL460C

The fiber port on the MSL library belongs to a NSR router (I would assume you have NSR1200).
you need to log into the NSR and configure the port, you can do that by using the rj11 port on the NSR, connaect using a hyper terminal.
If it is already configured to be used with a web browser, you need to go and check the the port spped is the corrct one, and that the rest of the settings (SAN) are correct.

Re: MSL6000 + BL460C

Hi,
Thanks...
I followed this document. I did following acgtions on NSR but didnt get any result.
1) I tried with Serial port communication with RS232 port and serail port.
I tried all options with 19200,9600 etc.
It doesnt show any comunication.
2) Tried to communicate with 10BaseT with 1.1.1.1 port and didnt get any result.
It doesnt even ping 1.1.1.1
3) I tried plug in cross over cable one end at my laptop and one end directly on 10BaseT port but didnt get any result.

Do u think there might be any hardware failure on NSR card
kindly help me ....
Thanks
again

Re: MSL6000 + BL460C

I would suspect that if nothing worked out then there might be a problem with the NSR as you mentioned.

I can send you an NSR1200 Manual if you would like to try and diag the problem.
Its size is 4M so i would need an FTP site to upload it to.

Re: MSL6000 + BL460C

Also check these settings:
Some of the basic factory default values are:
├в  IP address: http://1.1.1.1/
├в  Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
├в  Gateway address: 0.0.0.0
├в  User name: root
├в  Password: password

To open a serial session, a terminal emulator utility is required. From most Windows 9x, Windows NT, and Windows 2000 systems, a HyperTerminal session can be started using the following steps:

1.From the Windows Start Menu, open HyperTerminal.

2.Name the new terminal session.

3.Indicate the appropriate COM port.

4.Configure the serial port settings, as listed in Table├В 7.Note: HP recommends setting the baud rate to 115200.

5.After completing the serial port configuration, select OK to start a serial session.

6.After the serial session has started, press Enter several times to initiate router communication and display the Configuration Menu.Table 7: Terminal Configuration SettingsBAUD Rate Autobaud, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 115200

Re: MSL6000 + BL460C

As Tal pointed out in his previous post, the default baud rate on the NSR is 115200, not 9600 or 19200 as many other devices use. Have you tried that yet? If you still can't get any response from the NSR then you're right - you may have a H/W problem with it.
