MSL6000 + Tape barcode details

I have a tape barcode label that looks like the following:

000552L1 (The L1 preffix seems to be standard on all tape labels for LTO)

What I need to be able to do:
1/ Stop the MSL library publishing the L1 preffix to the host os that is using the tape media (OS = VMS) so when the os looks at the tapes it only sees the "000552" id

2/ I can do this on an IBM3584 tape library

Can anybody help

Thanks in advance

Re: MSL6000 + Tape barcode details

You should be able to do this by setting the library options from the front panel.

The manual can be downloaded at:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00870445/c00870445.pdf

from Page #62

Barcode Label Size:
Lets you limit the length of the bar code label. Possible settings
are 1 through 8. The default is 8.

Barcode Label Assignment:
Lets you specify the alignment of a bar code label. The options are Left or Right. When used in conjunction with the Barcode Label Size option, this option strips unwanted trailing characters (left alignment) or leading characters (right alignment). The
default is Left Align.
