MSL6000, four Drivers and Two NSR e1200-160

Dear all,

If we put 2(two) NSR e1200-160 in MSL6060 with four tape drives, how we can connect it in order to see all drivers(4) from every router?

We only need to know how connect the SCSI cable between drivers and controlers

4 drives, 2 NSR, but want to see all 4 drives on one single "bus"?

Why???

BTW, not possible - makes no sense.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

We really not sure about the best practic to configure it. The NSR├В┬┤s have 2 bus.

We like to configure it to redundant environment

Depending on your type of drive - one drive per SCSI bus is recommended. There is no redundancy for this tape library.
Just connect the NSR port to one drive and terminate. Include the library controller to one bus. That's it.

Hope this helps!

Yep, no redundancy. Best you can do is attach one NSR to one Fabric and the second NSR to the other fabric. Then, make provisions on the fabric that does NOT have the NSR with the robitic controller so that you can easily swap the fibre cable in the case of a fabric/switch failure.

Pre-zone the port and pre-map the NSR so that your servers can immediately see and use the nsr and its resources

I would lso suggest an addition 2 NSR's if you have LTO3 906 drives AND plan to heavily stream to them. If you are only doing light backup's, several GB's at a time (not more that 50 or so), then your current hardware should be fine with 2 drives on one NSR (one drive per scsi channel).
