MSL6000 not seeing new drive

We have a MSL6000 tape library with 1 tape drive connected to a SAN. We run data protector on a rx660 running 11iv3. we have just added an extra drive to the library, but when I run a ioscan I cannot see device files for the new tape drive. Am I missing something ??

Cheers,
Berd

Re: MSL6000 not seeing new drive

You have to update the setting of the drive in the NSR before your OS will see the drive.

It is in de mapping settings

Re: MSL6000 not seeing new drive

Do you mean activating the drive via the 'touch' panel ?

If so this has been done.

Re: MSL6000 not seeing new drive

No, the NSR is the network storage router, a card inside the library (FC to SCSI).
You need to lan connect to tis card and adjust the mapping, otherwise the new drive cannot be seen in the SAN.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: MSL6000 not seeing new drive

Thanks Torsten,

I need to add the new tape device to the current active map and that resolved my problem.

Many thanks,
Berd
