MSL6000 tape drive replaced

Hi,

I have had a tapedrive replaced in an MSL6000 Robot. I cannot now see the new WWID on our VMS Server.
I have used the command mc sysman io find_wwid but I cannot see any new drive.

Is there anything else I need to do?

Regards,

Paul

Re: MSL6000 tape drive replaced

AFAIR it is recommended to power cycle the lib to force the NSR to discover the new drive correctly. Did you try this?
You should also check the NSR's mapping.
This is what you can check on the library - sorry, no clue about vms.

Hope this helps!

Re: MSL6000 tape drive replaced

All that was needed for this once the drive was replaced was to perform the following command on each vms server that needs to see the drive;

mc sysman replace_wwid $2$mga2
mc sysman io a

This fized the WWId Mappings for our drive MGA2
