MSL6000 with NSR e1200-160

I am haveing a few problems with the setup above. The OS (W2K3 Server) installs the drive and the tape library is visible in the Computer Management. But neither of the two drives.

When I run the L&TT V4.0 I get a message that the device scan failed to find the library drives. The Tape drive is visible in the L&TT, the drive slots says they are empty.

Ray,

Do you still see all of the mappings in the NSR web interface? Deleting and recreating them helps also from time to time.

Do you have the windows device drivers installed?

Can you use the library normally with the backup software (eg Data Protector)?

best regards,
Kurt

No I haven't check the mapping in the web interface. I will check on that.

Yes I have the drivers installed.

Data Protector picks up the library, but not the drives.

Hi,

This seems to be a mapping issue. i too faced the same problem once. Just create/re-create the mapping and things will turn out fine.

I can't seem to find the options to change the mapping. Where is this located?

Thanks,
Torsten.

You can set the mapping using the telnet or browser interface. There should be a manual shipped with your library telling you the how-to.

Here is the link to he user guide:

(look for device mapping)

Hope this helps!
