MSL6030 Drive failure issues

I have a new MSL6030 with 2 Ultrium 960 LTO drives. The library and drives are attached to a DL360 G5 with an HP dual channel Ultra-320 SCSI card (PCI-X). I have been having continous problems with drive 1 (when facing the front of library, drive on left) failing after a certain amount of data has been written (100-300GB). I am using BE 10.0 as backup software with RSM disabled on Server 2003 SP1.

The drive, SCSI adapter, backplane, and controller have all been replaced. I have swapped cables and the problem doesn't follow the cables.

I have run the LTT LTO Assessment test and it completes with warnings about unable to determine cabling (both drives do this). Is there any guidance anyone can offer as to where I can go from here? Thanks.

Matt

Re: MSL6030 Drive failure issues

Can you give a description of the cabling of the server, library and drives? It may be a termination issue.

Hi,

Could you please brief me how the cabling is done.

Matt, were you able to fix the issue. I have a similar problem with a MSL 6030 and two LTO 4 drives
