Re: MSL6030 FC Configuration
Assuming that your library has SCSI ports here is what you need to do -
You will need the following -
1) MDR - modular data router
2) FC switch
3) SCSI and FC cables
Connect the SCSI cables coming out robot device to the MDR. The MDR will convert the SCSI input to FC output.
Connect the FC output from MDR to FC switch.
The output from the FC switch should be connected to the HBA on the server
MRD(scsi)-->(scsi)FC switch(FC)-->(FC)Sever
Thanks and Regards,
Pavaman

Re: MSL6030 FC Configuration
1) MDR - modular data router
2) FC switch
3) SCSI and FC cables"
If the library is a FC model, than it already has a built in modular NSR (Network Storag Router) (The MDR that is referred to).
As for directly connecting an HBA to the NSR, I am not sure if that is "supported". I'll have to look it up tomorrow sometime.
Typically, you would connect the NSR to a SAn Switch (FC Switch, as mentioned) along with connecting the HBA of the server to the SAN Switch.
After appropiate SAn Switch configuration, your NSR will then "see" the HBA and you will need to provide a "mapping" to it using the web interface of the nsr.
