I've got a two HP librarys MSL5030 and MSA6030, ane one question. If I use a LTO1 tape (data cartrige) with MSA6030, can I use the same tape with another MSL5030 library, and what happens with data on tape. Did a MSL5030 can read a data written on MSL6030 and LTO1 tape?

SolutionThe Ultrium 460 tape drive is fully read and write compatible with the first generation of Ultrium tape drives.
The Ultrium 960 tape drive is fully read and write compatible with second-generation Ultrium data cartridges, and offers a further degree of investment protection through its backward-read compatibility with first-generation Ultrium media
So if you've got Ultrium2 drives in the MSL6030, Ultrium1 tapes can be wriiten in there and swapped with the MSL5030 library.
best regards,
Kurt

Re: MSL6030 + LTO1 dtat cartridges
Yes, you can interchange Media between two Libraries in your site. LTO1 tapes are supported on both of them.
